“Kafka on the Thames”: Shady Lewis reviewed in Le Monde and Marianne
Shady Lewis’s On The Greenwich Line, which has just appeared in French as Sur le méridien de Greenwich (translated by Sophie Pommier and May Rostom, and published by Actes Sud) has been warmly received in France. Marianne is calling Shady “Kafka sur la Thamise,” a well deserved title for a novelist who’s deeply concerned with the power wielded by bureaucracy. If you’re a Le Monde subscriber, you can read the review here, and the Marianne review is readable here.
